Some Photos of a Star Trek Phase II Nurse Chapel Federation Dress

This unfinished Nurse Chapel dress was obtained directly from CBS/Paramount's Star Trek inventory and features a design pattern identical to some dresses seen in The Original Series. The medical Starfleet insignia patch is early '70s era from Lincoln Enterprises, and was attached after purchase. Many experienced TOS collectors are aware that the Phase II costumes were created from leftover Original Series 3rd Season fabric bolts. The recent Christies 40th Anniversary Star Trek auction affirmed this in describing several Phase II lots of various Command and Engineering Starfleet tunics (see lots 946 through 949) as being of either Phase II or TOS 3rd Season origin. The 2nd last photo in this post provides an excellent closeup of the fabric pattern; which features a small square-weave design as opposed to the diamond-weave style seen in other posts on this site dedicated to 3rd Season tunics. It is believed that both fabrics were present in TOS inventory; some in anticipation of 4th season production requirements that were never realized due to the series cancellation. The following photos show some of the major construction details of this Federation dress ...
