Star Trek XI Moves Into 1st Place for 2009 Domestic Box Office Revenue

The new Abrams Star Trek movie is now officially the top money making film of 2009 based on domestic box office! Including yesterdays earnings of $1.8M, it has now generated $194.8M in revenues so far this year; enabling it to move past Monsters v. Aliens which has just under $194M in domestic box office sales.

Star Trek XI has also realized an additional $92.0M in foreign box office revenue as of May 27; giving it a Worldwide total Box Office of $286.8M

And Star Trek XI continues to amass a tremendous lead in total box office earnings versus the other Trek films released by the franchise. Within days, it will pass the previously unimaginable (for a Star Trek motion picture) domestic box office milestone of $200 million.
